چکیده

Future Geosynchronous Synthetic Aperture Radar (GEOSAR) missions will provide permanent monitoring of continental areas the planet with revisit times less than 24 h. Several GEOSAR have been studied in USA, Europe, and China different applications, including water cycle early warning disasters. require unprecedented orbit determination precision order to form focused (SAR) images from Orbit (GEO). A precise technique based on interferometry is proposed, a proof concept an experimental interferometer using three antennas separated 10–15 m. They continuous observations present communication satellites operating at GEO as illuminators opportunity. The relative phases measured between receivers are used estimate satellite position. results prove able track transmitted signals. This demonstrates consistency feasibility foster further research longer interferometric baselines that observables delivering higher orbital precision.

Interferometric Missions Using Small Sat Sar Satellites

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is currently involved in the development of active membrane antenna technology for SAR applications. To qualify this new technology, it is proposed to develop a small satellite L-band SAR demonstrator. Such a demonstrator could be placed on the same orbit than the ALOS satellite for a tandem interferometric mission. The paper describes the initial science objecti...

A Generalized Chirp-Scaling Algorithm for Geosynchronous Orbit SAR Staring Observations

Geosynchronous Orbit Synthetic Aperture Radar (GEO SAR) has recently received increasing attention due to its ability of performing staring observations of ground targets. However, GEO SAR staring observation has an ultra-long integration time that conventional frequency domain algorithms cannot handle because of the inaccurately assumed slant range model and existing azimuth aliasing. To overc...

Passive geosynchronous SAR system reusing backscattered digital audio broadcasting signals

A synthetic aperture radar is considered, located on a geosynchronous receiver and illuminated by the backscattered energy of satellite broadcast digital audio or television signals. The principal application of such a passive system could be differential interferometry, since even low spatial resolution coupled to zero baseline would be useful; however, other imaging applications could be envi...
